Seeing Faces

A few things hit me in the face today.

1. Holiday bath confetti. Small green and red christmas trees to sprinkle in your bath water. $3.99.

2. Premium pet beds.

I've been seeing so many faces in my head...

Wow. Andrea, I know we talked about this other night, but I am amazed that you are not more harshly cynical about the excess upon coming back to the states after having such tangible, real experience with poverty. You have a quiet, gracious spirit that is confident in what you have seen and what you feel...I think that speaks so much louder and deeply than people who are so overwhelmed by their mission experience that they have no compassion or hope for their own family, friends, and country. We have our own kind of poverty, and yeah there are a lot of disgusting things about our culture and consumerism, but Americans need grace as well. I just can't help but think about our conversation - that God prepared you to go Africa and when the time came, he prepared you to come home and continue to be an active, compassionate minister of grace here too. I love you!

thank you, Hallie. it is so hard sometimes. You know...we talked :) Sometimes I feel like I'm trying and trying but feeling sick and helpless. Grace is incredible. I am learning even more about it. God is always faithful to lead and teach.
I love you, too. Thank you for your love and support. It means so much to me.
